News & Information

Excited to Announce - Purchased Plot Certificates are Available!

You can now get a Purchased Plot Certificate emailed or text to you. This certificate is your proof of purchase of a plot in the Perla Cemetery. You can request your certificate on the Contact page Contact by selecting the Request a Purchased Plot Certificate option.

As we progress with updating our records, we will require a proof of purchase before assigning a plot to a family member. This certificate will serve as your proof of plot ownership. We ask that you be patient as we work to update our plot ownership records. Many of the old plot purchase records were hand written and have been lost or destroyed over time. We are working to update our records with the information we have available. If you have any information regarding plot ownership, please contact us and we will be happy to update our records to reflect your information so there is no confusion regarding plot ownership in the future. *IMPORTANT NOTE: you must take the time to REGISTER with your Email Address and Phone Number so we can send you your Purchased Plot Certificate. If you do not register, we will not be able to send you your certificate, as the system connects your account with your plot purchase information. There is no cost for you to register! Your account information will be kept private and will not be shared with anyone. We will only use your information to send you your Purchased Plot Certificate. So please take the time to register so we can move forward with getting your Purchase record updated and send you your certificate. Thank you for your patience!

United We Stand

There are numerous grave sites without markers. Many are only depressions or old temporary markers rendered unreadable. You can donate to the grave marker fund, in order for us to place a cross marker on these unknown grave sites.

We are in the process of trying to recognize gravesites with no markers and have them identified and updated on the website. We are in need of a Ground Penetrating Radar system in order for us to complete this work. Learn more on our In Need Of page.

We hope you can join us in our struggle to preserve Black cemeteries in our area. Together we can encourage legislators to approve a bill that will ensure the preservation and maintenance of small cemeteries in the state. Learn more about our Preservation efforts on our Preservation Efforts page.
